Viagra is a brand name medication approved to treat erectile dysfunction in men. The official manufacturer of Viagra – Pfizer claims that drinking alcohol during taking Viagra is not associated with significant health problem. Although similar drugs are known to cause problems when used with alcohol, this is not to be common for Viagra.
It is well-known that both Viagra and alcohol have vasodilating effects on blood vessels. However, clinical studies didn’t show health problems in those men who combined them.
Despite this fact, it is better to avoid alcohol drinking while taking Viagra. Alcohol (ethanol) is a substance that significantly affects CNS. Additionally, alcohol is known to have unfavorable effects on erection. So an important question arises – why take Viagra to improve erection, and then take alcohol to impair it?
Although Viagra is not known to cause any health problems when used with alcohol, theoretically some of the following side effects are possible:
- Low blood pressure
- Tachycardia
- Dizziness
